Link: Removing More False Claims

Though Facebook had started this anti misinformation campaign the previous year, they expanded the list in order to make it more practical.

The Social Media Giant reported that it has been working on these crucial factors related to the Vaccine of COVID-19, such as:

  • COVID-19 is man-made or manufactured
  • Vaccines are not effective at preventing the disease they are meant to protect against
  • It’s safer to get the disease than to get the vaccine
  • Vaccines are toxic, dangerous or cause autism

Facebook also mentioned that ‘they are continuing to improve their search results’ so that whenever someone searches for ‘vaccine’ or ‘COVID-19 Vaccine’, they promote the better and more accurate results.

However, these measures may also affect negatively up to certain extents for new research regarding the COVID-19 vaccine. Also, older posts from Health Organizations may also get removed.

Last but not the least, Facebook has also taken a number of other measures including $120M in ad credits for boosting and promoting health information related to the vaccine.
